‘Outlander’ Opening Titles Released at Comic-Con 2014

The first look at the opening titles of new Starz series Outlander debuted at Comic-Con 2014 last night, giving over 1,500 fans a look at never-before-seen footage from the series.

In addition to the footage in the titles, there’s also an arrangement of the”Skye Boat Song” by Emmy-award winning composer Bear McCreary which features the vocals of Raya Yarbrough.

The official description for the series, according to Starz, is below:

Outlander follows the story of Claire Randall, a married combat nurse from 1945 who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743, where she is immediately thrown into an unknown world where her life is threatened. When she is forced to marry Jamie Fraser, a chivalrous and romantic young Scottish warrior, a passionate relationship is ignited that tears Claire’s heart between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives.

Outlander premieres on Saturday, August 9th at 9pm ET/PT on Starz, but you can catch an advanced screening of the pilot via Starz.com’s Outlander page, the Starz YouTube and Facebook pages, Starz’s official Outlander Twitter page and the Starz Play app beginning August 2nd.
