‘Fargo’ May Become A TV Series

FX is looking to make a TV series out of the Coen Brothers’ Fargo. Conversations are in early stages for the network to adapt the show for a series on the cable network along with MGM Television.

MGM is attempting to set up new TV projects based on its library titles now that it is out of bankruptcy. Sources note that the deal is not yet a certainty and it is unclear whether the companies have a writer in mind.

The film won a Best Actress Oscar for Frances McDormand, who played a pregnant police chief traveling through the snow snowy environs to solve murders spurred by an inept car salesman (William H. Macy). Joel and Ethan Coen also won an Oscar for original screenplay.
