CW Renews ‘Nikita’ And ‘Gossip Girl’, Cancels ‘Ringer’ And ‘Secret Circle’

The CW has renewed Nikita for a third season, while freshman series Ringer wasn’t so lucky. The Sarah Michelle Gellar show was canceled after low ratings. Also getting canceled was fellow freshman series The Secret Circle, which failed to capitalize on a Vampire Diaries-like atmosphere.

Nikita, which had weak ratings partially due to airing on Fridays, will come back for a full twenty-two episode season next year. The network had already given early renewals to Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, and 90210.

The network has also renewed Hart of Dixie for a second season and given Gossip Girl a shortened final season of ten to eleven episodes.

  1. Really disappointed in Ringer, Unforgettable and Harry’s Law being cancelled. I loved these shows and am so surprised they won’t be back. Wish I could do something.
