A Closer Look At NBC’s ‘1600 Penn’ With Bill Pullman

1600 Penn is being billed as Modern Family meets The West Wing and is one of the newest series to join NBC’s 2012-2013 lineup. Writer and director Jason Winer (one of the masterminds behind ABC’s Don’t Trust the B—– in Apartment 23 and Modern Family brings us a story of the average American family – the Gilchrists. The twist? The Gilchrists are actually the First Family.

And who better to play the President than Bill Pullman, who became a fan favorite as the Head of State years ago in Independence Day. Pullman recently spoke about the new series and pitched it as a “what if” – What if we got to look inside the White House at the lives of the First Family?

“You don’t get to see the things that most families can relate to.” Pullman says, “Those disagreements, those entanglements, those rivalries, those great joys, those happy accidents…”
