Lance Bass Was Originally Cast in ‘Don’t Trust the B—-‘

James Van Der Beek’s role on axed sitcom Don’t Trust the B—-in Apartment 23 was originally written for Lance Bass, according to the pop star himself.

The former ‘N Sync star reveals he was being lined up to play an exaggerated version of himself on the comedy show, but ended up getting dropped in favour of former Dawson’s Creek actor Van Der Beek.

He tells Entertainment Tonight, “James Van Der Beek’s role in Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23, that was written for me.

“I was the original guy. I did the (screen) test for that and all the table reads for that, and then James Van Der Beek said, ‘Hey, I wanna do TV again’ and stole my job!”

The short-lived show, which also starred Krysten Ritter, was scrapped from ABC last year in the midst of its second season due to low viewing figures.

Who knows? Maybe following through with Lance’s casting could have saved the show! Let us know what you think in the comments below!
