Andy Samberg Officially Leaving ‘SNL’

Andy Samberg has officially announced his departure from Saturday Night Live after seven seasons.

The news comes after Kristin Wiig left the show at the end of the season.

Samberg said in a statement: “It’s an incredibly emotional and strange moment in my life. Obviously it’s not a huge shock, but I did officially decide not to come back.”

In addition to the final edition of “Laser Cats”, he also had a line in Lazy Sunday 2 that hinted he was leaving. In it, he raps: “On these New York streets I hone my fake rap penmanship. That’s how it began, and that’s how I’m-a finish it.”

The other cast member rumored to be leaving, Jason Sudeikis, has yet to confirm if he will be gone before next season.

The Jacob Jacob is a contributor to FanBolt. He updates on entertainment news, reviews books and movies, and keeps everybody up-to-date in the world of comedy. He’s been a member of FanBolt since 2009 and started writing posts shortly thereafter! He also thinks Norm MacDonald is the funniest man alive.
