Emma Stone Set to Replace Michelle Williams in ‘Cabaret’

Emma Stone has officially signed on to replace Michelle Williams in Broadway show Cabaret.

The Amazing Spider-Man star will make her New York stage debut as Sally Bowles in the hit revival of the classic Kander & Ebb musical.

Stone was in talks to open the show with Alan Cumming last year, but her Spider-Man schedule proved to be too much of a conflict and she had to walk away from the role.

Negotiations resumed earlier this month and now Cabaret bosses have confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that Stone will take over from the show’s current star Williams when her run as Bowles ends in November.

Cumming has extended his time with the show to cover Stone’s three-month stint. He originated the role of Emcee when the current revival of Sam Mendes’ musical opened at London’s Donmar Warehouse in 1993.
