Adam Levine to Produce Autobiographical Comedy Series
Adam Levine is set to produce an autobiographical comedy TV series for NBC.
Kids in America will be inspired by the Maroon 5 frontman’s time as an up-and-coming singer and will center on a teenager from an unconventional family who dreams of becoming a rock star, according to Deadline.
The script will be written by Family Guy‘s Aaron Blitzstein and Levine, while Adam’s manager/producing partner Jordan Feldstein and development executive Josh Gummersall will serve as executive producers.
This isn’t the first autobiographical series Levine has worked on – a show based on his friendship with writer-producer Gene Hong and another inspired by their experience at a karaoke bar are currently in development. Levine’s production company 222 Prods. reportedly has a music-themed 10-part miniseries,The 1970s, in the works over at NBC.
