CeeLo Green Issues Public Apology Over Rape Comments on Twitter

CeeLo Green has issued a public apology for the controversial comments about rape he posted on Twitter, branding his remarks “idiotic”.

The “Forget You” singer sparked outrage this week by writing a series of posts implying women who are unconscious during a sexual assault cannot call it rape.

The tweet came just days after Green pleaded no contest to a felony count of sharing ecstasy after an ex-girlfriend accused him of slipping her the drug during a dinner date in 2012 and then having sex with her.

Green deleted his Twitter account after the controversy, but reactivated the page on Tuesday and he later posted an apology for his remarks, writing, “I truly and deeply apologize for the comments attributed to me on Twitter. Those comments were idiotic, untrue and not what I believe.”

Hopefully he’s learned his lesson and hired someone else to tweet for him moving forward.
