New Persona 4 Arena Ultimax Trailers Have Kanji, Naoto, and Akihiko Enter the Ring

0

Keeping with the recent tradition of multiple character trailers for the upcoming release of Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, a new set featuring returning characters Akihiko Sanada, Kanji Tatsumi, and Naoto Shirogane have been posted online.

Kanji serves as the game’s grappler character. With the help of his Persona, Take-Mikazuchi, the duo make use of electricity while throwing around the opponent with large grabs, and Kanji smacks his opponents around with a folding chair for good measure. For skilled players who like to leave traps around the ring for their opponent, Naoto will probably be the character of choice. Her Persona, Sukuna-Hikona, can be sent out for a potential surprise attack while Naoto places traps that trigger a special meter, and if enough traps hit then Naoto can use one of two instantly killing supers. Opponents should be on their toes when fighting her, as these traps can be a pain if not avoided. While both of those characters come from Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4, this batch of trailers is rounded out by one of Persona 3‘s playable characters. Akihiko has one of the most aggressive playstyles of Arena, and while he can call in his Persona, Caesar, to join in the fight, most of his fighting will be primarily solo. This boxer is all about getting in his opponent’s face and dealing heavy damage, but when Caesar lends a hand it could result in some shocking electric attacks or even a special grab that gives the opponent the Mute status ailment.

As with most trailers for the game, you can get a very quick tease of their Shadow variations at the end. The trailers can be viewed below, and Persona 4 Arena Ultimax releases in America at the end of this month.
