CW Renews ‘The Vampire Diaries’, ‘Arrow’ And ‘Supernatural’

The CW has renewed three of its hit series for next season, including freshman hit Arrow, its top-rated drama The Vampire Diaries and fan favorite Supernatural. The news came yesterday from Mark Pedowitz, President, The CW that all three shows will return in Fall 2013.

“We said last year that one of our goals was to establish building blocks to grow on, and now with our new hit Arrow and fan favorite Supernatural on Wednesday night, and the continued success of The Vampire Diaries on Thursday, we’ve been able to do that,” said Pedowitz. “Not only do Arrow, Supernatural, and The Vampire Diaries perform well on-air, they’re also extremely successful for us both digitally and socially. I’m thrilled to have all three shows returning to our schedule next season.”

One of the true breakout hits of the season, Arrow posted The CW’s best series premiere since 2009 and currently stands as the network’s most watched show (4.3 million viewers).

  1. I love HoD 🙂 Not many shows like that on the air. Feels a little out of place for CW though – I feel like it should be on ABC Family.

  2. I’m so glad that they renewed supernatural. Don’t know what I would do if I didn’t get to see my Winchester Boys every week.

  3. I’m actually surprised it got renewed – not because it’s not a great series – but because it’s been on for such a long time. Usually the cast members want to move on to other projects. I’m thrilled it will be back! 🙂
