ABC Family Announces ‘Pretty Little Liars’ Spin-Off And Greenlights Fifth Season

March 26 was a joyous day for Pretty Little Liars fanatics everywhere – not only did ABC Family announce plans for a straight-to-television spin-off series called Ravenswood, (centered on a neighboring town of Rosewood, PA, where the Pretty Little Liars reside), the network also revealed that Pretty Little Liars has been renewed for a fifth season. This is huge news considering ABC Family’s last spin-off Dirty Little Secrets, was only available for watching online via the cable channel’s network, and the Pretty Little Liars Season 3 finale just aired on March 19.

Ravenswood, which will premiere after the annual Pretty Little Liars Halloween special in October, follows five strangers suddenly at the mercy of a fatal curse that’s been plaguing citizens for generations, so they dig into the town’s mysterious and terrible history before it’s too late for all of them. While producer Marlene King did not mention anymore specific details of the upcoming show, we do know that Pretty Little Liars season 4 begins on June 11, picking up where it left off with the “Red Coat” mystery.

Once again, ABC Family continues to grow their fan base with provocative programming thanks to other teen drama shows like The Lying Game and Twisted, and FanBolt is excited for the wave of new towns with intensely dark secrets!
