FX has unveiled new American Horror Story: Freak Show posters and a promo, all of which aren’t any less creepy than you’re probably expecting.

Ryan Murphy recently revealed to Entertainment Weekly that this season won’t be like last year’s Coven because “This season, once you die, you’re dead. There’s no supernatural thing to bring you back like last year.”

Actress Skyler Samuels, whom many of you will remember from the short-lived ABC Family show The Nine Lives of Chloe King, had been tapped for a recurring role in the series that was described to The Hollywood Reporter as a local who finds herself in a tough situation.

This season’s plot, according to the network, begins its tale in the quiet, sleepy hamlet of Jupiter, Florida. The year is 1952. A troupe of curiosities has just arrived to town, coinciding with the strange emergence of a dark entity that savagely threatens the lives of townsfolk and freaks alike. This is the story of the performers and their desperate journey of survival amidst the dying world of the American carny experience.

See if you can spot what’s off in the promo and posters below!
