Rihanna To Executive Produce Reality Competition Series

Rihanna gets way more attention for what she’s wearing on the red carpet rather than what she belts on a mic, so it should come as no surprise to hear that the Bajan beauty has teamed up with Style Network to executive produce their forthcoming “Styled To Rock” competition series later this year. The 10-episode reality show will give 12 up-and-coming designers the opportunity of a lifetime – to create unique fashion pieces for A-list celebrity talent.

Each week, challenges will push the designers to their creative limits when they are tasked with styling an A-list star. The celebrity guest-of-the-week will then decide which designer best achieves their vision – and advances to the next level of competition. Faced with the threat of elimination, the remaining designers must meet with the three mentors to discuss where they fell short and ultimately, who will be sent home. In the end, one designer will be named the winner of “Styled to Rock.”

Its basically “Project Runway” meets the music industry, with fashion and music executives such as Pharrell Williams, acting as mentors for each contestant throughout the season. This isn’t the first time Rih Rih has dabbled in the fashion industry however. Back in 2011-2012, the unapologetic singer became the global face for Emporio Armani’s spring collection of T-shirts bearing her R logo and Armani’s signature eagle, biker jackets, jeans in two different styles and sets of lace underwear.

I’ve always been a fan of her edgy fashion sense, so if ever her music career starts to fizzle, at least she’ll have something to fall back on.
