Fox’s ‘Broadchurch’ To Star David Tennant

The U.S. remake of the UK murder mystery, Broadchurch, is coming to Fox with a rather familiar face. David Tennant, who currently stars in BBC’s Boardchurch is also going to be heading up the American remake.

Fox’s Broadchurch will be almost identical to the UK series – minus a fan favorite – Tennant’s sexy accent. According to TV Guide Magazine, Tennant will use an American accent.

BBC’s version just completed its first season and is scheduled to begin production on the second season soon. As for Fox’s remake, it’s expected to begin shooting early 2014 and will be marketed as a limited series – similar to what Fox is doing with 24: Live Another Day.

  1. Sorry this is just dumb to me. Why do we always have to remake shows? Why not just air the UK version? Especially if you’re going to have the same actor playing the same character. It’s ridiculous. Downton Abbey has proved a show can be a hit without American accents.
