Pink Floyd Confirms ‘The Endless River’ Is Final Album

Pink Floyd have confirmed their new album The Endless River will be their last.

Band members Nick Mason and David Gilmour spoke out to insist they will not release another record and admit it is a “shame” their career is over.

Gilmour tells BBC6 Music, “This is the last thing that will be out from us, definitely. I’m pretty certain that there will not be any sort of follow up to this. Polly, my wife, thought that would be a very good lyrical idea to go out on. A way of describing the symbiosis that we had. It’s a shame but this is the end.”

The Endless River is composed of tracks partly recorded with keyboardist Richard Wright prior to his death in 2008, and Gilmour still has some leftover pieces he plans to use on a solo album.

He adds, “I have a little bit of Rick playing on some sessions that I did for my solo stuff. I still have some tracks with Rick playing on them that will hopefully appear on my next solo album. So there will be a little bit of Rick to come but not on a Pink Floyd album.”

The Endless River is due for release next month.
