FOX Developing ‘Hitch’ Sitcom

FOX is developing a sitcom based on the 2005 comedy Hitch and Will Smith, original film’s star, is attached to executive produce.

The show is being developed as a half-hour sitcom. Harry Elfont and Deborah Kaplan (Leap Year) are writing the show and James Lassiter and Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment, are set to produce.

According to Deadline, the series will be “a workplace comedy that explores dating and sexual politics.”

The film followed a New York City “date doctor,” Alex “Hitch” Hitchens (played by Smith in the film) who, for a price, helps men find lasting relationships with women. Unfortunately, his tricks do not work on the one girl he wants to be with.
