‘Harry Potter’ Author J.K. Rowling Releasing New Tale for Halloween

J.K. Rowling, author of the Harry Potter series, is set to delight fans by releasing a new story based on franchise villain Dolores Umbridge just in time for Halloween.

The 1,700-word story will be published on Harry Potter fan site Pottermore.com and feature a back story to the dastardly villain’s life.

Umbridge was introduced to readers in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, the fifth book in the seven-part series, and was impeccably portrayed onscreen by Imelda Staunton in the film adaptations.

An announcement posted on the Pottermore website on Friday reads, “The new exclusive J.K. Rowling content provides a rich, 1,700-word back story about Umbridge’s life filled with many new details, as well as Rowling’s revealing first-person thoughts and reflections about the character.”

Are you excited to finally find out how Delores became so demented and twisted? What do you think made her that way? Let us know your hopes and theories in the comments below!
