Joan Rivers Receives Posthumous Women’s Image Network Award Nomination

Joan Rivers has been posthumously nominated for an acting prize at the Women’s Image Network (WIN) Awards.

The Fashion Police co-host, who died in September, will compete against Modern Family‘s Julie Bowen, New Girl star Zooey Deschanel and Veep‘s Julia Louis-Dreyfus for the Best Actress in a Comedy Series award at the 16th annual prizegiving.

Rivers’ daughter Melissa is also co-nominated with producer Lisa Bacon for the Comedy Series Produced by a Woman award for their work on an episode of Fashion Police.

Diane Kruger, Lena Headey, Vera Farmiga and Katey Sagal have also been recognized for their performances in TV dramas while Julia Roberts, her niece Emma Roberts, Whoopi Goldberg and Michelle Trachtenberg are up for the Actress in Made-for-TV Movie/Miniseries.

Scandal creator Shonda Rhimes is nominated for a production award while Girls star Lena Dunham will compete for a writing prize.

The WIN Awards, which honor females in TV and film, will take place on December 14 in California.

Rivers died a week after suffering a cardiac arrest during a routine throat procedure at a clinic in New York.
