Jude Law In Talks to Play Villain in ‘Knights of the Round Table: King Arthur’

Jude Law is in talks to show off his dark side as a villain in Guy Ritchie’s forthcoming King Arthur film.

Sons of Anarchy star Charlie Hunnam will play the title character in the medieval movie, opposite Spanish-born actress Astrid Berges-Frisbey as Queen Guinevere, and now Law is in the running to join the project.

If he signs on, it will reunite Law with his fellow Brit, Ritchie, who directed him in Sherlock Holmes in 2009 and the follow-up in 2011. A third installment of the detective film franchise is also planned.

According to Variety, “the studio hopes the film can kickstart another franchise for Warner Bros., with the story to be told over six installments. It’s unknown whether Law would be appearing in one movie or play a villain throughout the course of the franchise.”

Knights of the Round Table: King Arthur will also feature Idris Elba and Elizabeth Olsen and is due for release in July, 2016.
