Angelina Jolie Addresses Retirement in ‘Du Jour’ Magazine

Angelina Jolie has reiterated her hopes of winding down acting roles in a bid to become a respected filmmaker.

The Maleficent star warned fans she was considering retirement earlier this year, and now she’s determined to follow through with her threat to step out of the spotlight.

She tells the new issue of Du Jour magazine, she has never been “comfortable” in front of the camera, and when asked if she would ever give up acting completely, she responds, “Absolutely”.

She tells the publication, “I’ve never loved being in front of the camera. I didn’t ever think I could direct, but I hope I’m able to have a career at it because I’m much happier.”

Jolie made her directorial debut with 2011 film In the Land of Blood and Honey and her latest effort, Unbroken, is picking up Oscar buzz a month before its release. She is currently shooting By The Sea with her husband Brad Pitt in Malta and then has Africa lined up.
