‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay- Part 1’ Remains in #1 Spot at Box Office

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 has scored a second week at the top of the U.S. box office with an $83 million Thanksgiving holiday take.

The film made more than double its nearest rival, animated movie The Penguins of Madagascar, which has picked up a healthy $36 million over the five-day holiday.

Big Hero 6 and space thriller Interstellar have taken third and fourth place, while Jennifer Aniston’s new comedy Horrible Bosses 2 debuts at five with a $23 million take over the holiday and $15.7 million for the weekend.

Meanwhile, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 continues to be a huge hit globally – it has taken in over $480 million at the worldwide box office in 10 days.
