‘The Idris Elba Project’ Races to Discovery Channel

Actor Idris Elba is set to race around the world as part of a new TV series next year.

The Idris Elba Project will showcase the Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom star rally driving, street racing and power boating in an attempt to learn the disciplines and engineering, science and history behind each high-speed activity.

Announcing the new TV project, the actor says, “I’m taking on the toughest racing challenges of my life for this new Discovery TV series. Along the way I’ll meet extraordinary individuals, spectacular machines and hear amazing stories of how far people go to satisfy their love of speed.

“The extreme challenges will take me right out of my comfort zone as I compete against the best on land, water and in the air.”

The four-part series will air in 220 countries next year.
