Lil Wayne Goes on Twitter Rant About Record Label

Rapper Lil Wayne has publicly fallen out with his longtime mentor Bryan ‘Birdman’ Williams after the music mogul announced the hitmaker’s new album would no longer be released before Christmas.

Just five days before the scheduled roll out of Tha Carter V, Lil Wayne took to Twitter on Thursday to let fans know the album was no longer set for release next week.

The news marks the third delay for the highly-anticipated record, and Wayne is clearly far from happy by the hold-up.

He tweets, “To all my fans, I want u to know that my album won’t and hasn’t been released bekuz (because) Baby (Birdman) & (record label) Cash Money Rec. refuse to release it.

“This is not my fault. I am truly and deeply sorry to all my fans but most of all to myself and my family for putting us in this situation.”

Wayne is so upset by the latest delay he let fans know he’s looking for a new label, adding, “I want off this label and nothing to do with these people but unfortunately it ain’t that easy.

“I am a prisoner and so is my creativity. Again, I am truly sorry and I don’t blame ya if ya fed up with waiting 4 me & this album.”

Lil Wayne has been linked to Williams and Cash Money Records since 1995 when he joined the label as one half of the duo The B.G.z. He formed hip-hop supergroup the Hot Boys in 1996 with his Cash Money labelmates Juvenile, Young Turk and Lil’ Doogie and went on to taste massive solo success as a member of the company, becoming the chief executive officer of his own spin-off label, Young Money Entertainment, in 2005.
