Beyonce is Most Nominated Female Artist in Grammy Awards History

Superstar Beyonce has overtaken Dolly Parton to become the most-nominated female artist in Grammy Awards history after picking up her latest three nods on Friday.

The R&B hitmaker had been tied with Parton with 46 Grammy mentions each ahead of Friday’s announcement, but Beyonce has since bumped the country icon into second place after making the shortlist thrice for the 2015 Grammy Awards.

Her “Drunk In Love” collaboration with her rapper husband Jay Z will compete for Best R&B Song and Best R&B Performance, while her self-titled 2013 album is up for Best Urban Contemporary Album.

Beyonce now boasts 49 nominations throughout her career, with 17 wins to date.

The winners of the 57th Annual Grammy Awards will be unveiled in Los Angeles on 8 February.
