Jeff Daniels Reportedly Eyeing Role in Danny Boyle’s Steve Jobs Biopic

Jeff Daniels is reportedly in the running to join director Danny Boyle’s Steve Jobs biopic as former Apple CEO John Sculley.

The Dumb & Dumber To star has not yet been offered the role, but he is Boyle’s frontrunner for the part, according to TheWrap.com.

If Daniels signs on to the movie, he will be reunited with his The Newsroom creator Aaron Sorkin, who has written the screenplay for the project.

The movie, which is based on Walter Isaacson’s Jobs biography, has faced a number of road blocks in recent months after both Leonardo DiCaprio and Christian Bale dropped out of the project.

The film is now back on track after it was picked up by executives at Universal Pictures last month.

X-Men star Michael Fassbender has landed the role of Jobs, while Seth Rogen is set to portray Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak.
