Angelina Jolie Has the Chicken Pox and Won’t Be at ‘Unbroken’ Premiere

Angelina Jolie has the chicken pox and won’t be attending the premiere of new film Unbroken.

Yesterday, Universal Studios posted a video of Jolie on YouTube. Jolie stating, “I wanted to be clear and honest about why I will be missing the Unbroken events in the next few days, which is I found out last night I have chicken pox.”

“I will be home itching and missing everyone and I can’t believe it ’cause this film means so much to me. I just can’t believe it, but such is life.” Jolie continued. “There it is and send everyone my love and hope everything goes well.”

A statement was released from Universal Studios as well, reads: “Angelina Jolie will be withdrawing from public events scheduled over the coming days due to a mild bout of chicken pox. She intends to resume her schedule and press engagements at the earliest opportunity.”

It makes sense why Jolie would release the video, which does show the actress with red dots on her chest. During the recent Sony leak, Jolie was referred to as a “minimally talented, spoiled brat” by Scott Rudin to a Sony Pictures executive after the actress objected to news of David Fincher directing the upcoming Steve Jobs biopic.

Media would surely ask Jolie about the leak and her response to the messages that were leaked about her and her being upset with Sony bosses when she heard they’d offered Fincher the Jobs movie. Jolie not showing up on the red carpet or at press junkets for Unbroken could be mistaken for the actress wanting to avoid awkward situations. Not to mention that Unbroken was recently snubbed during Golden Globe nominations.

Unbroken, based on late athlete and World War II hero Louis Zamperini’s life story, will be released on Christmas Day.
