‘Gracepoint’ Canceled, ‘Broadchurch’ Lives On

David Tennant’s remake of Broadchurch has failed to lure audiences in America and it has been canceled after just one season.

The former Doctor Who star reprised his role as a detective on the hit U.K. crime drama for a U.S. version called Gracepoint, which premiered in October on FOX.

Breaking Bad actress Anna Gunn stepped into Olivia Colman’s shoes as Tennant’s partner, but despite the star power from the two leads, Gracepoint was unable to garner strong ratings throughout its run.

However, Tennant won’t have to say goodbye to the character all together – he has reprised his role as Detective Alec Hardy for the U.K.’s second season of Broadchurch, which will be broadcast next year.
