‘Captain America’ Star Chris Evans Visited a Young Cancer-Stricken Fan in Boston

Chris Evans made a young cancer patient’s dream come true by paying him a surprise visit in Boston, Massachusetts on Monday.

The state native paid a visit to Christopher’s Haven, a center that provides a home away from home for kids battling cancer and receiving treatment at Massachusetts General Hospital next door.

The Captain America star is in town for an event on Friday at baseball venue Fenway Park to help raise money for the facility, and before attending the fundraiser, Evans decided to surprise superfan Kenny Botting, a nine year old from Connecticut who is battling a brain tumor.

Evans arrived at Christopher’s Haven much to the delight of Botting, and the actor spent time hanging out and taking pictures with him.

After signing autographs and handing out gifts to Botting and other residents, Evans told local news station WBZ that he takes inspiration from the bravery of kids like Botting.

He said, “It’s their strength that gives me strength. No matter what hurdles are in my life it’s nothing compared to what these families go through, so any way I can bring a smile it’s worth it.”

Botting was overwhelmed by Evans’ visit, and simply said, “I am more than happy. I just want to say thanks for coming.”
