‘Game of Thrones’ First TV Show to Receive IMAX Treatment


Game of Thrones is making its way to IMAX theaters near you and is also rumored to be bringing with it a treat more special than lemon cakes…the first season five trailer.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the hit HBO series based on the hit George R.R. Martin book series will make its big screen debut beginning January 23rd. The one week screening, taking place in 150 IMAX theaters, includes the final two episodes of the show’s fourth season, as well as an exclusive trailer for the upcoming fifth season.

“The cinematic brilliance and grand scope of the series is perfect for the IMAX format,” said Pamela Levine, chief marketing officer at HBO, in a statement. “We are always looking to provide fans with new and exciting ways to experience the show and viewing two key episodes, along with the new trailer, on such an impressive platform makes for a great event.”
