‘Foxcatcher’ and ‘Boyhood’ Land 2015 Writers Guild of America Awards Nominations

Boyhood, Foxcatcher, Gone Girl and Guardians of the Galaxy are among the eclectic films up for screenplay prizes at the 2015 Writers Guild of America Awards.

WGA officials announced their nominees for best theatrical and documentary screenplay on Wednesday.

Richard Linklater’s Boyhood and Foxcatcher will compete with The Grand Budapest Hotel, Nightcrawler and Whiplash for the Original Screenplay honor, while Gone Girl and Guardians of the Galaxy are up for the Adapted Screenplay prize alongside American Sniper, The Imitation Game and Wild.

Finding Vivian Maier, The Internet’s Own Boy: The Story of Aaron Swartz, Last Days in Vietnam and Red Army will fight for the Documentary Screenplay award.

Last month, the guild announced nominees in several other categories, including TV.

The awards will be handed out in simultaneous ceremonies taking place in Los Angeles and New York on February 14.
