Vanessa Carlton Is a First-Time Mom!
Vanessa Carlton has given birth to her first child.
The “A Thousand Miles” hitmaker and her rocker husband John J. McCauley welcomed a baby girl on Tuesday, and the proud dad shared a photo of his newborn on Instagram.
The snap featured McCauley cradling his daughter in the delivery room, along with the caption, “Sid the Kid, whoa!!!”
The Deer Tick frontman’s Partisan Records label also congratulated him on Twitter, writing, “There’s a new mama and papa on the block! Huge congrats to John McCauley and Vanessa Carlton on their baby girl!!! Welcome to the family!”

Carlton first announced she was expecting in June, after she was forced to delay the release of her new album, Liberman, due to the pregnancy.
In 2013, Carlton suffered from complications from what turned out to be an ectopic pregnancy and was forced to cancel tour dates. In a candid Facebook post about the drama, she revealed her right fallopian tube had to be surgically removed.
We’re so glad to see that the couple and their little miracle are doing well!
