Arrest Made in Madonna Album Leak Scandal

Police in Israel have arrested a 39-year-old man on suspicion of hacking into Madonna’s computer and leaking songs from her new album Rebel Heart.

The suspect, who has not been named, was detained by members of the country’s Lahav 433 crime-fighting unit on Wednesday.

A statement released by the organization suggests officers are investigating allegations the suspect “broke into the personal computers of several international artists over the past few months and stole promotional final-cut singles which have yet to be released and traded them online for a fee.”

The investigation began after a security firm reportedly traced the breach of Madonna’s computer to Israel, and the case was handed over to the Lahav 433, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Several of Madonna’s new songs leaked online prior to their planned release date, prompting the singer to push them out early. The singer subsequently hit headlines by branding the leak “artistic rape”.
