Miley Cyrus to Help Organize Elton John’s Annual Oscars Viewing Party

Miley Cyrus has landed a role on the committee organizing Elton John’s annual Academy Awards viewing party.

The veteran singer’s charity event is considered one of Tinseltown’s hottest tickets of the year, and Cyrus has been named as one of the co-chairs of the 2015 bash.

Cyrus, who has become known for controversial antics in recent years, is believed to have landed the role through her partnership with make-up giant MAC, which is among the sponsors of the event.

Elton John, who has been running his Oscar viewing party for 23 years, has previously branded Cyrus a “meltdown waiting to happen” over her brash behavior, which includes saucy performances, smoking pot on-stage and stripping off for risque photoshoots.

Other big names on the list of co-chairs include actors Jim Carrey, Denzel Washington and Samuel L. Jackson, as well as Nicole Kidman and her husband Keith Urban, and Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne.

The party is held in Los Angeles on the night of the Oscars and raises funds for the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

This year’s party takes place on February 22 and features a performance by Nile Rodgers and CHIC, and food by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.
