Nene Leakes Sends Cease-and-Desist to ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ Co-Star

A lawyer for Glee actress Nene Leakes has fired off a cease-and-desist letter to her reality TV co-star, former beauty queen Kenya Moore, amid allegations of defamation.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta regular Moore shared a photo of the notice on her Instagram.com account on Tuesday, three days after her 44th birthday, and captioned the snap, “I guess this is @neneleakes way of saying happy birthday!”

The document states: “Mrs. Leakes has learned you have engaged in making false, destructive, and defamatory statements. You are hereby directed to cease and desist making any and all false and defamatory statements, which are injurious to her character and reputation.”

The exact nature of the comments allegedly made by former Miss USA Moore is unclear, but Leakes’ lawyer claims the offensive statements were made “directly, by implication and innuendo during television broadcasts and through social media and the (reality show network) BravoTV blog.”
