Suge Knight Charged with Murder

Suge Knight has been charged with murder after killing a friend during a hit-and-run incident on Thursday.

Knight turned himself in to police early on Friday and he has been behind bars ever since.

Early on Monday a judge revoked his bail, ruling that he considered the hip-hop mogul to be a flight risk, and just hours later, Los Angeles County district attorney Jackie Lacey charged him with murder and other counts.

The drama escalated after Knight was involved in a scuffle on the set of a promotional shoot for the N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton in Compton, and as he raced away from the scene, he struck and killed a friend, Terry Carter.

Knight’s attorney insists his client had no idea he had hit someone as he drove away.

If convicted, the Death Row Records founder faces a life sentence in a state prison.

Knight, 49, is scheduled for arraignment on Tuesday.
