Suge Knight’s Legal Troubles Won’t Delay N.W.A Biopic Release

N.W.A biopic Straight Outta Compton is still on track for release in August despite the recent controversy involving jailed rap boss Marion ‘Suge’ Knight.

The hip-hop mogul stands accused of mowing down and killing his friend Terry Carter, and injuring actor Cle ‘Bone’ Sloan, following an alleged argument on the set of a commercial for the rap film in Compton, California.

Knight pleaded not guilty to charges of murder and attempted murder following the incident last week.

The Hollywood Reporter now suggests bosses at Universal Pictures, the studio behind the movie, have no plans to change their release schedule despite the Knight incident.

A source tells the publication, “We like our release date. We don’t want to change anything.”

Universal chiefs are yet to resume production on the commercial that Knight is believed to have disrupted, but the insider adds, “I would be shocked if (the commercial is) scrapped. The expectation is that it will finish.”
