‘The Vampire Diaries’ Star Kat Graham Launches Film Noir-Inspired ‘Muse’ Trilogy

The Vampire Diaries star Kat Graham has premiered the first part of her new french film-noir inspired trilogy, Muse, which showcases the actresses singing abilities as well.

Muse follows the story of a photographer, played by Louis Oberlander, who is in love with his Muse, played by Graham. The series was directed by by Darren Genet (The Vampire Diaries,CSI: Miami, Kings) and is the first film through Graham’s Panthera Pictures production company.

Each of the three films is set to original music written and recorded by Graham, which will also be released as an EP. In addition to the films and EP, the MUSE collection includes a coffee table book consisting of original photos taken by Harold Julian and poems composed by Graham, as well as interviews with prominent tastemakers and entertainers.

“I was inspired to create a capsule collection that encompasses film, music, literature and art, centered on an artist’s muse,” says Graham. “What that abstract concept meant to me, and how I could turn what inspires me into something the world could understand, was profoundly compelling. I had yet to see a capsule collection presented this way, so I teamed up with my friends to create it. I’ve always been a fan of French films and filmmakers. Stylistically, I knew I wanted to incorporate the attitude of film noir into the project. I am most often known as an actor and as a music artist. I did not want to abandon these aspects of my art, so I made Muse.”

The first of the three-part tribute to french film noir premiered today and you can watch it here.
