Samuel L. Jackson Studied Mike Tyson’s Lisp for ‘Kingsman:The Secret Service’ Role

Samuel L. Jackson studied Mike Tyson’s lisp for his role as the villain in new action movie Kingsman:The Secret Service, because he wanted the character to be the meanest person on the planet.

The star decided his bad guy, Valentine, should have a speech impediment, but he didn’t want to give him a stutter after suffering one as a young man.

Jackson explains, “Bond villains are always very unique and they have something about them, and there’s something about a person who has a speech impediment… This guy is, like, the smartest guy on the planet and now he’s one of the richest guys on the planet and because he has this speech impediment people tend to dismiss him… He judges them and kinda gets his revenge.

“I told (director) Matthew (Vaughn), ‘One of the baddest men on the planet has a lisp… Mike Tyson!”
