Vanilla Ice Charged with Burglary and Grand Theft

Vanilla Ice has been arrested and charged with burglary and grand theft after stealing items from an abandoned home for his renovation reality TV series.

Reports suggest the “Ice Ice Baby” rapper took items from a home adjacent to the one he was working on sometime between December and this month, so he could continue renovating a property for his design show The Vanilla Ice Project in Lantana, Florida.

The rapper-turned-TV host, real name Robert Van Winkle, swiped furniture, a pool heater and bicycles among his haul, according to local news station WPTV.

The owner of the vacant house reported the items as stolen and police recovered some of the goods on the grounds of the property Van Winkle was renovating after obtaining a search warrant.

According to WPTV, the star voluntarily met with officials at the Lantana police department and provided a sworn statement about the burglary on Wednesday.

He was subsequently taken into custody on charges of burglary and grand theft.
