‘Game of Thrones’ Star Lena Headey Opens Up About What Helps Her Battle Depression

Having a kid has helped Game of Thrones star Lena Headey get to grips with depression, because she has stopped taking life so seriously.

The British actress has battled varying degrees of depression in her life and admits she still cannot understand people who are carefree, but she has been a lot happier since becoming a mom to son Wylie.

Headey tells More magazine, “I haven’t had a spell in a long time. I think some people’s brains are just wired that way if you’re a thinker… Getting older and having kids, you learn how to become less serious about it all.

“(But) people who never get anxious always amaze me. The world could be breaking up and they’re saying, ‘Everything’s fine!'”

Game of Thrones premieres April 12th at 9pm on HBO.
