Jason Segel Developing New ‘Lego’ Spinoff

Funny-man Jason Segel has been tapped to develop a new Lego movie with Iron Man 3 writer Drew Pearce.

The Lego Movie grossed $469 million worldwide when it was released and now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. has hired Segel and Pearce to write and co-direct the newest Lego film, a spinoff currently titled The Billion Brick Race.

Since the original movie was such a hit, the plan is for Warner Brothers to release more spinoffs and sequels to expand the universe over the next few years. The Billion Brick Race is still in early development, with no release date yet.

This movie will be Jason’s first time directing a feature, while Pearce has been busy working on Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation and a Sony Ghostbusters film.
