Idris Elba Reportedly ‘In Early Talks’ to Play ‘Star Trek 3’ Villain

Idris Elba is reportedly “in early talks” to play a villain in Star Trek 3.

Variety is reporting that the star is in talks with the studio for a role in the franchise, although nothing is set in stone quite yet.

According to the site, “details of Elba’s role are being kept under wraps. Early rumors suggest that Klingons would be the main villains in this movie, as they have not had a full presence in previous installments, but sources would not confirm if that was the case.”

The film will be directed by Justin Lin and returning cast memebers include Simon Pegg, Chris Pine, Anton Yelchin, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana and Karl Urban.

Elba recently played a villain opposite Empire star Taraji P. Henson in the thriller No Good Deed.
