‘Coach’ Returning to TV as 13-Episode Series

Craig T. Nelson has signed on to return as Coach Hayden Fox in the limited return of classic TV series Coach.

NBC has decided to bring the series back for 13 episodes and not only did they get the show’s original star to returm…Coach‘s creator Barry Kemp is also on board to write the new series.

The new chapter is set in the present day, picking up 18 years after the original ABC series’ ending, and is a sequel that will follow Coach as he adjusts to becoming an assistant coach to his grown son, who is the new head coach at an Ivy league school in Pennsylvania that is just starting a new team.

This news comes shortly after FOX’s announcement that The X-Files is returning to the network for a limited run as well.

There is no airdate scheduled for the Coach sequel series as of yet, but we’ll keep you posted as news develops.
