‘Deadpool’ Will Have R Rating

In an announcement that will relieve comic book fans around the world, Ryan Reynolds has confirmed that Deadpool will have a R rating.

Reynolds released a new video with Extra’s Mario Lopez where he confirmed that the film will be rated R. You can check out the video below, in which he also specifically says “He was in [X-Men OriginsWolverine, but that’s not the character we’re putting on screen right now.”

Known for excessive violence and obscene language, fans of the comic book character feared a PG-13 would not be able to convey the character as he should be. Now fans can rest assured that the “Merc with the Mouth” will be just as he should be (we hope).

Deadpool stars Reynolds, Ed Skrein, TJ Miller, Gina Carano, Brianna Hildebrand and Morena Baccarin and will be released on February 12th, 2016. The film tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
