Bosses on TV hit 24 have halted shooting on the drama’s seventh season, and ordered the last six episodes to be re-written.
The multiple award-winning show is set to return to the small screen after a lengthy break.
Eight episodes were completed last year (07) before Writer’s Guild members began lengthy industrial action.
Shooting resumed earlier this year (08), after star Kiefer Sutherland completed a prison sentence for violating his probation with a drink driving charge.
But executive producer Howard Gordon has pulled the plug three quarters of the way through the shoot, because he is unhappy with the way the season is set to end, reports Daily Variety.
Writers have been given until the end of September (08) to return with an improved script, before production resumes on 9 October (08).
