‘Pinocchio’ Is Latest Disney Film Set for Live-Action Treatment
Lately it seems like fans have been receiving news of Disney classics being remade as live-actions films almost daily. The latest film to receive the big makeover is the 1940’s classic, Pinocchio.
As many of you know, the film is about the tale of a wooden puppet boy’s quest to become a real boy, needing to overcome his difficulty with telling the truth along the way. The upcoming live-action version is said to be loosely based on the original tale and according to Deadline, will be written by Peter Hedges (What’s Eating Gilbert Grape , About a Boy, The Odd Life of Timothy Green).
No casting news has been announced as of yet, nor has a release date been set for the film.
Critically-acclaimed horror/fantasy director Guillermo del Toro is also working on a new adaptation of the tale, which will be darker than the Disney versions.
