Zachary Levi Set to Host New Syfy Series ‘Geeks Who Drink’

Zachary Levi is taking his talents to Syfy to executive produce and host the new trivia series Geeks Who Drink.

The network announced that it greenlit the show today. The series will be produced through Levi’s The Nerd Machine production company, which he co-founded with David Coleman as a company designed to create unique new content, spread nerd culture, and bring passionate geeks together from all around the world.

According to the network, each episode of the show will feature two teams of self-proclaimed “trivia geeks” who will compete in rapid-fire quizzes that cover topics from pop culture to science fiction. Each team will consist of three players – a celebrity team captain and two trivia pros, with the winning team earning bragging rights, a spot on the Geeks Who Drink leaderboard and a slew of cool prizes.

“To be the executive producer and host of Geeks Who Drink is an exciting opportunity to broaden my experience on both sides of the camera,” said Levi in a statement. “Geeks Who Drink is such a fresh take on the game show genre, and something that we at The Nerd Machine believe will resonate with everyone who loves trivia and pop culture. We’re looking forward to collaborating with the teams at Syfy, Kinetic Content and Condé Nast Entertainment.”

Geeks Who Drink will premiere on Syfy Thursday, July 16th.
