Agents Morse & Hunter to Star in ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Spinoff

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has a spinoff in development. Plot details are few and far between but the new series will reportedly star Nick Blood and Adrianne Palicki as Lance Hunter and Bobbi Morse (AKA Mockingbird), with both actors currently finalizing their deals.

The two characters are ex-husband and wife who renewed their relationship before the current “S.H.I.E.L.D. vs. Real S.H.I.E.L.D.” storyline split them apart. The spinoff is reportedly set up by events that have not yet happened on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and currently no “planted pilot” episode is planned.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. executive producer Jeffrey Bell and co-executive producer Paul Zbyszewski are co-writing the spin-off pilot, with ABC not giving a formal go-ahead until the script comes in. The hope is that they can make that final call before the upfront presentation when ABC announces all of their shows for the 2015 – 2016 season. Zbyszewski would serve as showrunner if the show moves ahead.

The setup would reportedly allow the show to run concurrently with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., though whether that would happen or not isn’t known since it hasn’t been officially approved to start.

According to reports, this spinoff is not the series that John Ridley is working on, which may be centered on Kamala Khan (Ms Marvel).

Agent Carter is also said to still be in the running for a second season.

What do you think of these two getting a spin-off? Would you watch? Tell us your thoughts below!
