‘Captain Jack Is Back’ in First ‘Pirates of the Caribbean 5 ’ Still
Today Jerry Bruckheiemer released the first photo of Johnny Depp returning as Captain Jack Sparrow in the fifth installment of Pirates of the Caribbean.
The upcoming film, titled Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, will follow the adventures of Captain Sparrow as he searches for the trident of Poseidon (and no doubt almost gets himself killed multiple times along the way).
The photo, captioned “Captain Jack is back and we’re not letting him go,” shows Captain Jack in trouble as usual, being held up by two unsavory looking fellows.

The cast also includes a returning Geoffrey Rush and new addition, Javier Bardem.
Production on Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales was recently held up when Depp injured his hand back in March. No one knows how Depp injured it exactly, only that it was not on the set of the film. The actor ended up having to have surgery and production was held up for a few weeks in order to give him time to recover.
The film is still expected to be completed by its scheduled release date of July 7, 2017.
